METRO OMAHA ASA QUALIFIER

ALL AGES CLASS A & B

JUNE 16-22, 2008

                                                       JO age group 14 16 18 will play 90 minute games.

Omaha leagues are eligable for League Trophy Program.

Omaha players may apply for the Scholarship Program.

The Board of Directors of the Amateur Softball Association of America voted in their fall meeting to consolidate the Metro Omaha ASA into the Nebraska ASA state program. The Nebraska State Commissioner Joe Patterson, who has served as the interim Omaha Commissioner the past three seasons, will oversee the combined associations.

The teams in Omaha should see little change with regard to berths and tournament opportunities due to the action by the Mid America region who voted to continue to allow the Omaha area their Regional tournament berths. Omaha teams will continue to participate in a metro format to earn a berth to regional competition, and Omaha will continue to host qualifiers for the various class and age groups.

The Omaha teams will now fall under the Nebraska state code with regard to classification and playing rules.
