All summer teams must have one coach per team ACE certified.  ACE certification takes care of a background check as well.  You can access this on-line program through a link on the Nebraska Softball website, www.nebraskasoftball.org, after January 19th.  When you log on, click on “Youth Softball.”  You will have two options to choose from in order to enter the certification program – “Returning User” and “New to Register ASA.”  The ACE program has been improved since last summer (thank goodness!) but if you do have trouble, please contact our State JO Commissioner, Renee Williams by email, sb.blue@yahoo.com.

Everything will be done on-line. The ACE certification will take around an hour.

***If you are unable to finish in one sitting, you can begin right where you left off the last time. If you were in the middle of a video, it will begin at the beginning of the video.

Cost for Level 1 is $25 (this includes the background check).
Cost for Level 2 is $20 (this includes the background check).
Cost for Level 3 is $20 (this includes the background check).
Cost for Level 4 is $20 (this includes the background check).

IT IS ONLY NECESSARY TO ATTAIN ONE (1) LEVEL PER YEAR.

All coaches on the field and in the dugout must have an ASA background check prior to championship play.  180 people were not allowed to coach nationwide last season due to these background checks.  I personally feel it is of huge benefit to our organization and gives an assurance to our players and their parents that the coaches have been screened.

All players participating in championship play must be individually registered through Bollinger Insurance.  Individual registration for 2011 will be $16/player.  It is a $0 deductible this year with a 90/10 coinsurance.  Players are covered from January 1st through December 31st.  Athletes who play NSAA high school ball in the fall are also covered.  Nebraska ASA pays for each team to be ASA certified so the insurance stays intact for the fall season.  This insurance follows a player’s team no matter where they play….ASA, USSSA, AFA, etc.  Players who are “picked up”and are not playing with their team, ARE NOT COVERED.

ASA Team Registration is $22.  This is a fee assessed to any team that is not choosing to play championship play and register their players individually.  YOU WILL NOT PAY THE $22 IF YOU ARE REGISTERING YOUR TEAM INDIVIDUALLY.

Umpire fees for 2012 will be $30/game.
