Major changes to the Gold program!
1st – Beginning 2010 – College players are no longer allowed in the 18Gold division. College players can only compete in the 18A or other ASA Women’s Fastpitch divisions. This applies to Championship play only > meaning ASA Qualifiers, Regional or Nationals tournaments.
2nd – Beginning 2010 – the USA/ASA Gold Nationals will now rotate their National Championship location. Every 3rd year it will be in Oklahoma City. When not held at OKC, the site will be determined at the discretion of the ASA Executive Director.
3rd – The Gold program will now also have an ASA National Championship in each of the Northern, Eastern, Southern, & Western areas.
Metal Cleats
Beginning 2010, metal cleats will be allowed int he 16U & 18U divisions for ASA Championship play. This applies to ASA Championship play, meaning ASA Natioanl Qualifiers, State, Meto and National Tournaments.
Changes to Pitching Distances
Beginning 2010 – ASA Girls Fastpitch 16U & 18U – all divisions will pitch from 43 feet. No changes to any of the other age divisions.
2010 ASA Registration
ASA Registration – Individual Player Insurance will begin for NE teams on January 21st. Please remember – the cost covers not only the ASA registration fee but also the Player/Team Insurance fee. Insurance is valid from Jan 1st thru Dec 31st. Complete insurance coverage details can be found on the Bollinger Insurance website at: www.bollingerasa.com All teams must use the individual player registration method to be eligible to play in ASA tournaments.
ACE Certification & Background Tests
New for 2010 – All teams must have at least 1 coach who is ACE Certified and all dugout & base coaches must have passed a Background test to be eligible for participation in ASA Championship play (National Qualifiers, Metro, State, Regionals and Nationals).
